Presentations by Marta Getty
September 2008 - Brisbane, Melbourne, Perth
proudly sponsored by Reiki Australia
Could your beliefs, your behaviours, even your ways of relating to others, be influenced by past generations in your family? Marta Getty, Reiki master since 1982, discovered that she could release pain that had been passed from generation to generation, and bring to life the wisdom held in her family tree, by using a unique process.
Marta writes "In our travels through life we are often accompanied by the experiences and demands of unfinished business left to us by our ancestors."
In these presentations Marta will share the fascinating results of this personal journey. To learn more click here
Phyllis Lei Furumoto, granddaughter of Hawayo Takata, and lineage bearer of the Usui Shiki Ryoho system of practice that came to the west through Takata, is reducing her travel schedule. She is planning to make her 2008 tour her final final teaching trip to Australia.
The leading event for this tour, "Practice Practice Practice", and the events in Victoria and Western Australia are open to all Reiki students, whether or not their lineage is through Takata.
In Phyllis' own words
Practice, practice, practice' is a phrase that I heard in every class I attended in which Takata sensei was teaching. This phrase has rung in my ears all these years...

Thursday 31st January 2008 at 1pm Pacific (4pm Eastern)
Aussies wanting to hear the broadcasts live will need to go to the website 7th Wave Network on Friday morning, 1st February 2008 at 6am (Australian Eastern Standard Time). The episodes are repeated 12 hours later (6pm AEST).
You may also listen to other archived interviews once they have been posted.
Lynette Kirkman came to Reiki in 1985 by Marta Getty who was teaching in Australia. She was initiated as a Master in 1989 by Marta. In her years of practicing Reiki, she has maintained a strong public practice and has played a key role in establishing Reiki Australia, a national organization which has initiated the move towards establishing national standards in Australia for practitioners sharing Reiki in public healthcare and community settings.
Ten years ago her personal Reiki practice led to a move from her initial form of practice to another form. This shift in her Reiki life has been done clearly and with great thought. Her shift brings up some questions, "Are all Reiki forms of practice alike? Do they go to the same place inside the student? How to know what is a whim or resistance and what is a calling? Was this a spiritual decision or calling?" Listen in to Lynette's candid and thoughtful responses.
Reiki Australia member Lindy Hou and her pilot Toireasa Gallagher made a great start to their World Championships campaign by taking bronze in the women's tandem kilometre time trial at the 2007 UCI Para-Cycling World Championships, in Bordeaux, France. ( pictured)
They went on to claim silver in the 3000m pursuit, bronze in the 19.8km Road Time Trial Championship, and silver in the 70km Road Race!! The awesome duo are now focused on preparation for the National Track Championships in Feb 2008 with the mission of qualifying for the Paralympics in Beijing.
Lindy, accompanied by her guide dog Harper enthralled delegates with her inspiring, heart warming and often humourous stories at the 2006 National Reiki Conference.
Join Phyllis each week for a stimulating hour as she shares her message of Reiki, a balance of form and essence.
As a host for this program, she is not acting as the spokesperson for Usui Shiki Ryoho or Usui System of Natural Healing as it is also known, but rather as a voice of experience and understanding of Reiki, Universal Life Energy, and Reiki, a form of practice that allows the student to have a conscious and structured relationship with this energy.
The first show, titled "What is Reiki, the energy and the practice?" went to air on July 12th 2007 and the second, "What does the Reiki kanji tell us" at 1pm Thursday July 19th (Pacific Time). Aussies wanting to hear the broadcasts live will need to go to the website 7th Wave Network on Friday mornings at 6am ( Australian Eastern Standard Time). The episodes are repeated 12 hours later (6pm AEST). You may also download previously broadcast interviews from the archives.
