Reiki Practitioner awarded Churchill Scholarship
Cath’s chosen topic, “To study spiritual care of the bereaved through life review programs - USA, U.K., Italy” will provide insights that will enrich her work at Hopewell. Cath will also be a wonderful representative for Hopewell when she visits overseas groups and takes part in conferences and study programs during her travels.
Cath follows in the footseps of Hopewell director, Deirdre Hanna, whose studies in "Spiritual Care of Cancer Patients"under a 1995 Churchill Scholarship have shaped all aspects of the centre.
Cath volunteered for many years as a Reiki practitioner and has served as Hospice Volunteer Coordinator and then as Coordinator of Counselling, Education and Spiritual Care. She has co-facilitated groups and workshops with an emphasis on spiritual growth, as well as running mindfulness meditation groups.
