Endorsement of Health Training Package HLT07 including the two units to which Reiki Australia made significant contribution. HLTCOM510A Provide services to clients with chronic diseases or conditions and HLTCOM509A Provide services for people with a life challenging illness have been included as electives in a number of qualifications.

Reiki Australia hosts a 3rd National Reiki Conference, Redcliffe, Queensland.
June 16th 2006
CEO of CS&HISC announced that she would be recommending that the Reiki qualification not be included in the current review of the Health Training Package due to failure of the stakeholders to reach agreement about key issues.
April 2006
Reiki Australia, and other stakeholders submitted Draft 3 Certificate IV and Diploma in Reiki Treatment to CS&HISC after being unexpectedly advised of a decision by several NRRG members to work amongst themselves to prepare a separate submission on the draft qualifications.
Reiki Australia also submitted a unit of competency for work roles requiring the provision of services to people with life challenging illnesses. The unit was witten in collaboration with industry experts.
November 2005
Meeting of Reiki industry representatives developed a working party calling itself the National Reiki Reference Group (NRRG). The NRRG liased with the CS&HISC in drafting Certificate IV in Reiki Treatment Practice in Community Services and Health Care Settings.
October 2005
Reiki Australia, and other Reiki industry representatives participated in a meeting convened by the Community Services and Health Industry Skills Council (CS&H ISC) for the purpose of resolving issues to progress the Reiki qualifications to final draft.
July 2005
Community Services and Health Industry Skills Council (CS&HISC) issued draft 1 qualifications for Certificate IV in Reiki Treatment Practice

The Professional Standards Team, Reiki Australia, began working with a competency writer from (CS&HISC) to participate in the review the Health Training Package HLT 02.
The team began additional work with industry experts to write competencies that would support Reiki practitioners and other complementary health care workers in providing services to people with chronic illness, and people with life challenging illness.

Reiki Australia invited to the Industry Reference Group to participate in the review the current Health Training Package HLT 02.

Team members participated in a two-day facilitation training in preparation for the conference.
